You are cordially invited to participate in our

43rd Seniors Golf Tournament

From Monday, 13th February to Friday, 17th February, 2023

Open to all invited male amateur golfers members of private golf clubs born in 1968 or earlier with a current handicap-index card of 35.5 or less, which must be shown when registering at our lobby.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Championship Flight:

Is limited to 20 players with a USGA handicap-index of 4.6 or less who will play a 72 hole Stroke Play Tournament from the blue tees.

Legends Flight:

Is limited to 28 players over the age of 65 at time of registration with a handicap-index of 6.4 or less who will play a 72 hole Stroke Play Tournament from the white tees.

Super Senior Flight:

Is limited to 8 players over the age of 80 at the time of registration with handicap index of 4.7 through 35.5 who will play a 27 hole stableford Tournament, 80% handicap, from green tees.

Match-Play Flights:

Is limited to 128 players with handicap-index of 4.7 through 35.5 who will constitute 8 flights each of 16 golfers. They will be listed according to handicap index in ascending order (ties to be decided by date of registration).

The first 6 flights will play from the white tees and the remaining flights will play from the gold tees. Participants will play match-play during a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 4 days, in accordance with the following procedure:

All players play on Monday, winners of Monday’s matches will play on Tuesday; losers of Monday’s matches will play on Wednesday; all participants will play on Thursday and the winners of Thursday’s matches will play on Friday. This does not apply to players in third Consolation Matches, “just for fun”.

Ladies Tournaments:

  1. – A “scramble” limited to 50 lady golfers who will play in a 36-hole Tournament on Tuesday February 14th and Wednesday February 15th starting at 12:30 pm. Teams will consist of 5 golfers. Pairings and starting times will be posted during the Brunch in honor of Lady Golfers on Tuesday February 14th by 11:00 hours. NO CHANGES WILL BE PERMITED.
  2. – Additionally the 12 ladies with the lowest handicap-index, are invited to play in an 18 hole Stroke Play Tournament, 100% handicaps, Stableford format, the morning of Thursday,16th February. It is important that any lady interested on play the Stableford, should sign up during the Registration at the lobby.

TIES

Championship and Legends flight:

First place ties will be decided by Stroke -Play in “sudden death” play-offs until one player wins a hole. For second to sixth places ties will be decided by USGA method of “last 9, last 6, last 3, 18th hole” using last day’s scorecards on holes from 18 to 10. If the tie continues, scores on holes from 9 to 1 will be used.

Super Senior:

Decided by USGA method of “last 9, last 6, last 3, last one”. If the ties persist, the previous day’s score will be taken into account.

Match-Play Flights:

“Sudden-death” play-off until one player wins a hole.

Ladies Scramble:

Same system as Championship Flight, comparing the teams’ scorecards.

Ladies Stroke Play Tournament: “Sudden-death” playoff only for first place.

ENTRY FEES

Gentlemen  $16,800.00 MXN / $800.00 USD
Lady golfer   $5,145.00 MXN / $245.00 USD
Lady non-golfer  $2,310.00 MXN / $110.00 USD

*** All the players and ladies non-golfers can be able to use all the Club facilities (pool, gym, etc.)

NOTE: Please have all your information on hand (index, ghin number, credit card and invitation number).

Golfers who wish to participate in our 2024 Seniors Tournament may register by leaving or sending a deposit of USD$ 100.00 to the starter. This will guarantee you a place for this event, providing your payment of the balance of the entry fee is received prior to October 31st, 2023.

Cancellation of entry fees received before December 31st, 2022, will be either reimbursed (with the note, that you may have to pay the extra charge of the International Deposit) or credited to next year’s tournament, at your option. After this date cancellation charges will not apply.

NOTE:

The Golf Committee has restricted the entries to the Tournament to the above numbers to avoid very early morning starts and congestion on the golf course. A wait list for all flights will be established and acceptances will be granted on the basis of dates of formal registration for the Tournament.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Participants who wish to play practice rounds prior to or after the Tournament are required to show the document testifying to their registration at the Lobby. Regretfully players who do not register at the lobby prior to 14:00 hours on Sunday, 12th, February, will be considered as “no shows”.

TROPHIES

Championship and Legends Flight:

Will be awarded to Champion, runner-up, 3rd to 6th places, and to the player with the best single-day score during the tournament.

Match-Play Flights:

Will be awarded to Champion, runner-up and winner of the semifinalists match of the main draw, as well as for every winner of the first two consolation draws of each flight.

Ladies Tournaments:

For Champion, runner-up and third place teams in the “Scramble” and Champion, runner-up and third place in the Stroke Play Tournament.

PAIRINGS AND STARTING TIMES

Gentlemen:

Will be announced during the Welcoming Cocktail Party for all participants on Sunday, 12th February at 6:30 pm. (casual attire).

Ladies:

Will be posted during an optional Brunch for participating Ladies on Tuesday, 14th February at 11:00 am. (casual attire).

OPTIONAL PRACTICE ROUNDS

Official practice days for participants will be Saturday, 11th February after 12:10 pm, and Sunday, 12th February all day. Players may also use the Club’s facilities including the golf course from Thursday, 9th February. All practice rounds require a tee time reservation which must be confirmed with the Starter.

PLAY AFTER THE TOURNAMENT

All participants and lady golfers may play two days during the week after the Tournament. They should request starting times (which will be after 12:00 o’clock) for Monday, 20th and Tuesday 21st.

PACE OF PLAY

A high priority will be placed on pace of play during the course of the tournament. Each foursome will be required to keep pace with the group in front of them. Starting groups on each tee must finish their round in four hours and forty four minutes.

CLUB POLICY / DRESS CODE

Guadalajara Country Club has adopted the USGA policy:

Article 4. – It is essential to use the appropriate clothes to play golf in the Club or in the practice areas according to the following rules:

  1. Men: They must wear long pants and a shirt with a collar and sleeves; Denim pants, pants, shorts, shirts or shirts without neck and sleeves or football are not allowed.
  2. b) Women: They must wear a skirt, pants, shorts or shorts and blouse; Denim pants or soccer jerseys are not allowed.
  3. c) The use of golf shoes with soft-spikes or tennis shoes will be essential.

GOLF RULES

USGA rules and Guadalajara Country Club local rules shall govern play. Decisions of referees or Rules Committee are final.

COMMITTEE’S DISCRETION

The Golf Committee reserves the right of admission of players and may make any changes for the benefit of the Tournament.

  • Sunday, 12th February

6:30 p.m.: Welcoming Cocktail Party for participants (casual attire) for the announcement of Monday pairings and starting times.

  • Monday, 13th February

5:00 p.m.: Approaching Contest for Ladies and Gentlemen.

  • Tuesday, 14th February

11:00 a.m.: Optional Brunch in honor of Lady Golfers (Just Ladies).

All ladies are invited (golfers and non-golfers) 2:00 p.m.: Putting contest for Ladies and Gentlemen.

  • Wednesday, 15th February

7:30 p.m.: Gala Dinner-Dance in honor of all participants and Guest (coats and ties for gentlemen).

  • Thursday, 16th February

Tour for first 70 persons who register to the tour.

  • Friday, 17th February

10:00 a.m.: Mexican Cooking class, for the first 30 who register

4:00 p.m.: Awards Ceremony.
